Privacy Policy

In short: Goblin stores the settings and game records its features need, keyed to Discord IDs, not real names. It never stores passwords or tokens, and it does not keep a general copy of your chat history. You can ask for your server's data to be removed through the support server.

1. Who operates Goblin

Goblin is an independent Discord bot project operated by Garxu as an individual. It is not run by a company. If you have questions about this policy, or want data removed, the place to reach the operator is the support server linked at the bottom of this page.

2. What Goblin stores

Goblin stores only what its features need to work. That includes per-server settings for each module you configure, such as welcome messages, starboard boards, counting state and streaks, suggestion posts and votes, notification feeds, birthday dates members chose to share, AFK reasons, log channel choices, pet records including Shinies and items, UNO stats and saved games, and game stats.

Records are keyed to Discord IDs: user IDs, server IDs, and channel IDs, so features can find their way back to the right server and the right member. Goblin does not collect real names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

3. What Goblin never stores

Goblin never stores passwords, tokens, or payment information. There is no premium tier and no payment flow, so no payment data ever passes through the bot.

Goblin does not keep a general copy of your chat history. Some features read a specific message only when you ask them to: counting reads the numbers members post, quotethis reads the message you asked it to quote, and flashback reads a message you asked to resurface. Nothing beyond what the feature directly needs is kept.

4. Why this data is stored

The data exists for one reason: to run the features you configured. A welcome message has to be stored to be sent, a starboard has to remember its threshold, and a pet has to remember its stats. If a feature is not configured, nothing is stored for it.

5. Third-party services

Goblin runs on Discord's platform and stores its data in a MongoDB database. When you run a lookup command, the query you sent is passed to the source of that lookup, for example AniList for anime lookups or a game's public API for a profile lookup. Those services receive only the query itself, and their own privacy policies apply to what they do with it. Goblin does not sell data to anyone, and does not share stored data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. How long data is kept

Data is kept while the server uses the feature it belongs to. Turning a module off stops the feature immediately, but it does not by itself delete the stored data for that module. Deleting stored data is a separate step, described below. Saved UNO games untouched for 24 hours expire on their own.

7. Your choices and removal

Members can remove their own optional data through the feature itself: release a pet, opt out of the starboard, or clear an AFK notice. Server admins can remove a server's data by asking in the support server and saying which server and which module the request covers, so it goes to the right records. Requests are handled by the operator directly, since there is no support team or automated deletion portal.

8. Children

Goblin is a bot on Discord, and Discord's own age rules apply to who may use Discord. Goblin does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the Discord IDs described above, and it does not target children with any feature.

9. Security

Stored data is kept in a private database accessible only to the bot's hosting environment, and access credentials are not shared. No system is perfectly secure, so while reasonable measures are in place, absolute security cannot be promised.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of Goblin after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

Questions, corrections, and removal requests go through the support server: https://discord.gg/bceyYDz5yB. There is no company mailing address or support email, because there is no company behind the bot.

This policy covers the Goblin bot only. The documentation on this site is covered by the same principles: this website itself collects no accounts and no personal data beyond what its hosting provider logs to serve pages. See the plain-words privacy section in the documentation for the short version.
